Local Plant Sales:
Kramers Flower Farm
The Farm will be open during May and June with the following schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 10 am - 6 pm and Friday-Saturday during 9 am - 4 pm. They have a good selection of hardy sunny and shady perennials.  Large clumps of field grown daylilies will be available all season long.  The daylilies should start blooming in June.  They usually peak around the 4th of July.  They also have mature clumps of a number of hosta varieties. The Farm will have a stall at the NewBo market on Saturdays starting May 11th. They will also be at the Downtown Market during June and July and at the Indian Creek Nature Center Plant Sale the first Saturday in May.  If you want to pick up plants at the markets, give them a call beforehand and they can deliver your order.

The Lowden Garden Club will hold its 8th Garden Walk on Saturday, June 29th, from 9 am to 1 pm, rain or shine! For more details, click here.

Gerald Hobbs has kindly issued the following invitation to visit his garden: "Hi, y'all come down South if you want to see some early bloom before yours or pick out some grand seedlings. Come this week (late June) and next   week. The main bloom should be about July 4th & later. The garden should have the best bloom in years - lots of newer cultivars and seedlings. I'm here about all of the time, early am & late pm, weekdays & weekends included, but please call if you're coming from a distance (319 372-4178). Bring your cameras!  Gerald,  2597 Hwy. 2 Ft. A Celebration of Life service for John "Jack" W. Jones will be held on Saturday, July 13th, at 11 am at the Jones family farm at 13824 Newport Road, just north of Olin, Iowa. Please click here for further information including driving directions. Please note that, if you cannot attend that day but would like to visit the gardens at the farm, they will be open on the weekends throughout July from 9 am to 5 pm. There is no need to call before visiting.
