Cedar Valley Iris & Daylily Society

Don't Miss Out on All the Fun! Please Join Us at the Fall Banquet!

The CVIDS Fall Banquet will take place on November 9 at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Coralville. Social hour and voting on photos will begin at 11 AM. The meal starts at noon, at which time voting will halt. Our guest speaker will have the floor at 1 PM, and a short business meeting will close out the meeting.

Reservations are required by October 31. If you haven't already registered, please contact Sherry Moffit as soon as possible via e-mail at smoffit@netins.net. Alternatively, you can phone her or text via 319-331-0784. The banquet meal is provided at no cost to paid-up members (i.e. dues paid by April 1, 2024). Guests are also welcome but are asked to pay for their meal ($30).

Our speaker this year will be Curt Hanson of Crintonic Gardens, Gates Mills, OH. The program will show primarily images of seedlings and  his goals. Curt may try to include a few new images of this season but may not have the time. Curt stated the “season comes to an end and now the real work begins of culling and replanting till the snow flies”. Curt calls the program “Self Imposed Paradize. Creating a spiritual comfort zone in an ever more dystopian world.”  Curt Hanson comes highly recommended, and lots of heads were nodding in positive approval when the announcement was made. Crintonic Gardens is located east of Iowa City in Ohio, certainly making his plants desirable for our Iowa growing conditions.

Please take time to view this PowerPoint presentation of 24 beautiful daylilies offered by Curt Hanson in a 50/50 auction at the Banquet! Please note: Payment for the daylily auction and dues will be cash or check only. We will not have credit card services at the banquet.

The CVIDS Fall Banquet is a celebration of our year. Come to socialize, meet Curt, and view and vote for your favorite photo in the Photo Contest (see below). A brief business meeting will be held that includes voting for new club officers. Candidates for Vice President and Secretary are needed for 2025. Please volunteer!

You will have an opportunity to participate in a survey presented by Lisa Schmidt, Region One President, on interest in attending Region 1 Summer Meetings.

Finally, we will be accepting dues of $10 per person for the 2025 year.

Please thank Nancy Rash, Lyle Moen, and Sherry and Lynn Moffit for serving as Co-Chairs for our 2024 CVIDS Fall Banquet!
